Female-Owned Apparel Brand blends Indian Culture with Western Flare

For South Asians, the month of May has been a time of celebration and commemoration of their arrival from the Indian subcontinent to the Americas beginning.

For Sepali, owner of popular apparel e-commerce company Bandit Queen, the month of May is also a time of reflection as she launched a new collection of clothing called the “Truth” collection.

The Truth Collection combines her South Asian heritage and the American culture — both identities that make she claims makes her feel empowered, feminine, and proud.

The “Bandhani” print used in the collection dates back to India over 5,000+ years ago from from, in Gujarat. This print was used in traditional Indian clothing, such as a Sari that women wore. The ombre pink symbolizes: positivity, versatility, and a fresh look on workout wear. According to the brand’s social media, the Truth Collection is a “a timeless staple in the Indian culture with a modern twist.”
